Bryant Park

Last week David and I met up with Rene Ritchie and Martin Reisch in Bryant Park to collaborate on a fashion photography feature for Check out the article here to watch a video of David offering tips on how to get the most out of your iPhone camera and to read Rene’s article our process.

On this gorgeous day last week, the weather was sunny and  in the high 60s. I’m really falling in love with spring. I’ve only lived in Florida, so I’ve never properly experienced the seasonal change from winter to spring. It’s absolutely intoxicating. You cannot not go outside on a day so fresh and in bloom.

I wanted to take advantage of the warmth in the sunny park and wear a flirty dress, bare legs and my new NastyGal kicks. These lace-up booties are my first NastyGal brand shoe purchase, and so far I am impressed. For $88 the quality is not bad and they seem super sturdy. I’m not going to claim they are the most comfortable but that comes with the territory for anything above 4 inches and under $100. I look forward to rocking them throughout summer and especially back in Miami. xx

Taylor Hannum x David Lundblad

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting with a model I’ve wanted to work with for months -the striking Taylor Hannum. Taylor and I had been trying to book something for a few weeks, but our schedules weren’t matching up. After changing my plans for NYFW, I messaged Taylor on a whim to see if she was available to shoot this week in Miami. The stars were aligned and Taylor was totes free on Saturday before jetting off to Sweden for work on Monday.

I immediately contacted my go-to Miami designers at ALEXIS. Throughout the summer I had seen little snippets of the fall collection while visiting the warehouse in Coral Gables,  and have been patiently waiting for it to become available. The brands F/W 2012 look book is a regular on my coffee table and I’ve been studying the garments for months.  To say that I am seriously feeling this collection is an understatement.

Sub-consciously, I’ve been playing dress up with Taylor in fall ALEXIS for a few weeks. As soon as I had both Taylor on board for a Capture Fashion production and new fall ALEXIS in my closet, I was really excited. David and I location scouted this MotoCross track back in early August, so we really had a good idea of the series’ story. The ALEXIS leather pieces together with a dirt track seemed like the most perfect gift from the styling gods.

We hooked up with two riders through my friend Nigel Bailey, who were game to be our MX models. Finding out they were twins was a serious bonus. So editorial.

For beauty, I knew I wanted a dark blue lip. Brush master, Vee Marie, suggested doing a blue brow too and super sleek hair which was flawless. I had an incredible morning on set and truly enjoyed working with this talented team.

THANKYOU to everyone involved. Enjoy. x

Today is Midsummer’s Eve!

Can’t wait to get down and Swedish all day. I’m currently writing this post while watching David’s mom prepare meatballs. Awww ya.

Last night, David and I went creeping around the forest to take these photos. I worked on the crown earlier in the day, click over to check out a few DIY pics. I used Birch twigs for the base and then Daisies as my flower. According to Wikipedia, you are supposed to collect seven types of flowers and then put them under your pillow in the hope of dreaming about your future husband. Haha, I won’t be doing that particular tradition, but if I were about 13 I would be totally down.

Going to Stockholm tomorrow. Hit me up if I have any readers that will be around. Still looking for a shopping buddy. x

Crochet skirt, ALEXIS. Vintage feather vest, bought at Fly Boutique in Miami. Daisy Midsummer crown, by me.

The Quarry

I finally found this wetsuit I have been longing after for weeks. I saw it during a preview of the H&M coming to Miami, but they wouldn’t let us shop. (I know, super devastating)

Luckily, I stumbled upon a H&M in Nykoping, a cute little town in Sweden, and it was the first thing I saw. Laser vision all the way. I haven’t bought anything else yet, but I am riding into Stockholm on Saturday. I will, of course, share any goods I find with you.

We took these photos about a half mile from David’s parents’ home at an old chalk mining quarry. The water was FREEZING. Hence, the wetsuit became even more perfect. I haven’t dove into water in years, just like riding a bike though, it came pretty naturally. Good thing too, I was really not wanting to repeat it! xx

Florida Keys Diary

Looking at these pics makes me want to throw my computer out the window and RUN to the beach. You too? Perfect.

Hopefully, you have a vacation (or two) planned for this summer. If it’s at a beach, here goes some inspiration.

David and I drove down to The Keys last month for a super relaxing trip. A little boating, a little beaching, a little bike riding and quite a bit of rum. Ahh, paradise. We stayed in Big Pine, which was beautiful and  really peaceful. Oh, and key deer roam there wild. I was afraid of them at first, but they are totally harmless.

We traveled down to Key West on our first day and then stayed in Big Pine the rest of the long weekend. I grew up spending summers in Islamorada, so it’s always a bit nostalgic to go back. If you have not done a Florida Key’s trip, I highly suggest it. It’s cheap, gorgeous and totally weird. Sold!

Black bikini top, Ralph Lauren. Pink bikini bottoms, L*Space. Neon jeans, Necessary Clothing. Printed bikini top, Milly. Teal hat, The Orchid Boutique. Creme bikini top with cut-outs, Red Carter. Tribal printed pants, Our Prince of Peace. White monokini, Anne Klein. Cat-eye sunnies, Cobra Snake Shop. Ankle wrap flatforms, Burberry.
