Boo hiss. It’s my birthday tomorrow and I have been sick for a week! I stepped out briefly to take these photos because it’s been awhile since the last post. Excuse my lack of enthusiasm in the pics and refusal to take off my sunnies…I was puffy and tired :/
This combo is one I have been experimenting with lately. The reverse v-neck* look is inspired by the Alexander Wang S/S2014 collection and I just think it’s the bees knees. So fun, fresh and easy. I love that creating this look doesn’t require any new purchases. The button down I am wearing is J. Crew from a few years ago. I paired it with a pair of high-wasited shorts and ankle strap heels, both I bought earlier this year. For the part that makes it Wangesque – button just the first few buttons and let the rest lay flat.
*reverse v-neck is a name I made up. Anyone know the proper term? Is there one? x
Short hair is so fun. I’m loving how much it’s changed the way I get dressed. I’m all excited to try on different outfits and see what new combos I’m feeling. Turtle necks are really getting me going right now. This hair really craves a big slouchy turtle neck. I’ll be visiting NYC the first week of November, so sartorially there is a lot to look forward to with my new beauty look. xx
Here are the first pics of my new ‘do. I love it!! The cut is so fresh and liberating. It’s very a freeing and empowering feeling after a dramatic hair cut. Long hair is the ultimate form of vanity for a lot of women. Rejecting that symbol of femininity really has a powerful impact on my state of mind.
Cut to me, braless, wearing a mesh American Apparel body suit. Just like Miley, this hair can’t be tamed. Ugh, sorry for the bad pun but I am living for outrageous Miley and cannot deny how entertaining I find her latest antics. No shade for Smiley Miley here! xx
Last week I went into Privé Miami and had my hair did. Not just did…but chopped off Daria-style. I have been obsessing over this hair cut for about a month. I first saw the look on Aline Weber and immediately wanted her hair and my hair to be exactly the same down to the last detail. THEN I saw the shorter cut on Daria for Celine’s fall ads and the deal was sealed. I’m forever aspiring to badass french babe.
The hard part was finding a stylist to do it in Miami. My usual guy lives in NYC and my old hair stylist lives in LA, so I had to branch out locally. I feel slightly disloyal to Miami when it comes to hair-care. It’s not that I don’t trust anyone, it’s that I don’t have faith in their skills. I KID. I’ve always been loyal to my stylists over the years and I since living in Miami Beach (4 years) I haven’t needed to get my hair cut and colored locally.
All this changed now that I’ve met Jenny Rey! I first heard of Jenny through Freehand’s event’s coordinator, Amanda Lee. Amanda and I have similar hair color and texture, so I immediately reached out to her for guidance. Amanda introduced me to Jenny through email and I was booked the next day for an appointment.
As I sat in the chair ready to discuss how this cut is about to go down, Jenny fingered through my long, limp locks and said: “Let’s do something like Daria/Celine/Elvis/90s.”
At this moment I knew I was in very capable hands. The rest of my experience was a BREEZE. Literally, I don’t know what she does to the bleach, but it doesn’t burn. I repeat: the bleach does not burn. I know. It’s was the most amazing experience. Half way through I realized I wasn’t tearing up and asking for the end of a comb to poke at my stinging scalp. A miracle! xx
High-waist and cropped – I love you. David took these photos of me breaking in my new Zara pants on Sunday morning in front of Flamingo Park in Miami Beach. Zara can do no wrong, for real. I need to chill on the online shopping but the statement basics at are just too perfect.
Cannot stop obsessing over all things blush toned. Here is my current lust-list. xx
Lisa Marie Fernandez one piece. 3.1 Phillip Lim Neoprene Skirt. Jonathan Saunders Charlie Bomber Jacket. Bryan Boy for Adrienne Landau. Ellery Cat-eye Sunnies. Zara Over-sized Studio Coat. 202 Factory Fur/Clear Clutch. It by Alexa Chung.
