Isn’t it funny how much Art Basel is just as much about partying and fashion than it is an art show? I’m not complaining. I welcome the endless events and collaborations being celebrated in the 305. Miami is such a beautiful city with an incredible amount of undiscovered talent and cultural-growth opportunities. Any way Miami can garner international attention – I think it’s great. So what if there are a million fashion-types and liquor sponsored parties? Art, booze, fashion, music – it’s all entertainment.
I think my point is that since moving to Miami in 2009, Art Basel is exactly the same as it’s always been just on a larger scale. It hasn’t suddenly become more about the events than about the art – it’s always been like that. If you are here for art, it’s not hard to find and the tents get better and better every year. The parties actually get worse every year due to over crowding. Art Basel is a forward-thinking art show with a side of fabulous. Who doesn’t want that? The traffic is insane and there are some annoying people everywhere – I dunno I think that’s part of the fun. xx
Boom! Big THANK-YOU to StyleCaster.com for listing me as one of ”Miami’s Most Stylish.” I adore this photo and am honored to be listed in the group. Check out the rest of the list here. xx
Art Basel week is the best time to be in Miami. The weather is delicious and every party feels chicer than the last.
For my first official Basel event, Harper’s Bazaar hosted a brunch at the gorgeous SOHO Beach House. We sipped champagne on the clubs rooftop and got a preview of the Bazaar pop-up shop. I got friendly with a MCM backpack and swooned over a Tom Binns necklace. It was a lovely morning. Tuesday night I finally stopped by the DesignMiami/ forum. I loved this! I have never walked this show in any previous Basels – major mistake. I love interior design and this show is like heaven. My favorites were the mirror walls at Fendi casa, the Swarovski sculpture and these deco style crystal coffee tables. So much inspiration for my dream castle.

More Art Basel updates soon. xx
Black, white, rose, taupe, creme – all the faves. Here’s a peek into what I’m wearing this week. Mostly neutrals – I did throw in some bright orange on Wednesday – because it’s really all I’m drawn to at the moment. xx
Remember me? It’s been a month since my last post. So much has happened in my personal life – sometimes I need to take a step back and focus before sharing. The last post I shared was on my 27th birthday with the announcement that I was taking on a new position as a creative director at ishine365.com. Long story short, that position didn’t work out. I will still continue to consult/work a bit with IShine, but I made the difficult decision to start my own venture.
Yes. I am starting something new! Capture Fashion isn’t going anywhere – but please be patient with my spotty posts while I attempt to create my dream.
In the meantime, I have been quietly working on THIS. #STAYTUNED #SlasherGirl
Today is my 27th birthday. This morning I headed to the beach with David to do my favorite thing in the world – take photos for Capture Fashion!
I started my blog at 24 with the hopes of upgrading my job as a fashion writer to fashion stylist. Through this blog, I began styling myself and eventually started assisting with various stylist in Miami. After a year, I met Ashley Sky on set and started on my own as her personal stylist. Today though, I am oh-so happy to announce my new position as creative director at ISHINE365.com. This is sort of a dream job for me, so I am beyond thrilled to share the news with you on my b-day.
Above I am wearing new, new from ISHINE365 via One Teaspoon. We just shot a TON of new 2014 swimwear that is going up in the new arrivals section now.
If you want to view my work with ISHINE – visit the store’s blog, ENDLESS SUMMER, by yours truly. xx
