Comic Craze

By Amanda Del Duca

Last week I received two items in the mail that I thought were begging for a photo shoot. The first is a pair of wide leg trousers from Our Prince of Peace that are completely insane. I adore stripes and immediately knew I wanted to pair the stripped pants with a cropped top and blazer. The look felt very Vogue Noir, and I liked that. Then, the Wasteland white leather high/low skirt came in and I started to think about super heros and Phillip Lim’s fall 2012 collection.

I came to David with my thoughts and we went location scouting around Miami Saturday morning. While cruising around Wynwood and downtown, we came up with a loose concept of a black and white series inspired by noir comics.

We shot this early Sunday morning and had it finished by the late afternoon. It was intense and awesome. I don’t think we have ever finished shooting and then finalized the edited the photos in the same day. A new record for sure.

The idea to create captions came after the shoot while David was editing. I had a good time writing them and I hope you find them as entertaining as I do. x
