Mr. Stiletto opens at Bal
The Roger Vivier Bal Harbour Shops Boutique will celebrate its grand opening with Inès de la Fressange, the ambassador of the Roger Vivier brand on Tuesday, December 1 from 7-9 p.m. at the Bal Harbour Shops, 9700 Collins Avenue. A total of 1,000 square feet will showcase the universe of the Brand including, each season’s collection, limited edition product as well at the Haute Couture collection.
Roger Vivier is a french fashion designer best known for oh-you-know, creating the stiletto heel in 1954 for the house of Dior. Vivier’s shoes are on display at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and at the Musée du Costume et de la Mode at the Louvre in Paris.
Creative director Bruno Frisoni designed the latest line of shoes and accessories with the brands rich heritage in mind and was inspired by the Queen’s coronation shoe, designed by Vivier himself in 1953. The collection, A Princess to a Queen, brings with it shades of emerald, sapphire and ruby to echo the jewels that adorn the royal crown.
The Roger Vivier Micro Metro is a cocktail purse must-have and its now available in larger sizes and a selection of textures like colorful suedes, patent leather and animal print while still emblazoned with the brand’s signature flap and buckle.

On Friday, December 4 Dita Von Teese will be at Books & Books Miami Beach to sign copies of her burlesque book and will later be at LIV nightclub at the Fountainbleu, 4441 Collins Ave.

The F Factory
For Art Basel and through the Holidays, Fendi launches The F Factory, a limited-edition retail project in the Miami Design District’s Moore Building, today, November 30. The shop will feature the brand’s most coveted bags, complete with Fendi’s Roman craftsmen on-site to personalize each one. But in true Basel form, art and culture will infuse the retail. Graffiti artist Andre is creating three needlepoint panels live in three 60-minute “performances” in the space, which will then be stitched into a unique Fendi baguette by students from the Design and Architecture Senior High.
The program will gather together some of the world’s most sought-after designers, including Fendi; Proenza Schouler; Duncan Quinn; Jessica Trosman; Christian Dior Homme; L’Eclaireur; Stubbs and Wootton; Pharrell William’s Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream; Katherine Fleming; Maia N.; Cynthia Rowley; Neon Monster; and others, to present limited edition merchandise as well as radically innovative programming and environments that reflect their creative viewpoints.
Vending Machine Chic
Special items like Vena Cava canvas kicks, limited edition Jil Sander tees and the Prada Marfa poster that guest-stars on Gossip Girl will be curated to celebrate Interview Magazine and 40 years of pop culture. The Luxury Semi-Automatic Vending Machine will be exclusively at The Mondrian, South Beach. One of a kind creations, rare editions, new releases, cult classics and exclusive experiences will launch Monday, December 1st, 2009 for Art Basel Miami Beach.
W Hotel The Store
Last night The W Hotel South Beach hosted its Global Glam party to celebrate the W Hotels The Store’s first ever Global Glam Collection. Five collections with exclusive original fashions designed by 35 designers worldwide are inspired by the five newest W hotels; South Beach, Santiago, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Downtown New York. Stand-out designers include A.V. Max; Alex and Ani; Daniel Benedict; David Aubrey; Foley + Corinna; Hat Attack; Lauren Merkin; Prairie New York; Rachel Leigh; Susan Daniels; and Wink.
The South Beach Collection is super haute and reasonably priced ($40-$400). A look book was sent to Social Miami and the South Beach Collection is described as remixed resort style.

Kristina Ashley Swim and Skate Retro Trunk Show
Kristina Ashley Swimwear has joined forces with the Clevelander Hotel for the KA annual swim trunk show on the newly renovated SPF 4 Rooftop Sun Deck. Overlooking Ocean Drive on Saturday, November 21, all guests can find this retro- themed sale from the hours of 1pm-6pm and are asked to enter through the Game On Sports Bar. Utilizing all the components of historical Miami Beach Ocean Drive scene, the event will feature Kristina Ashley models for a live swimwear photo shoot in multi-neon colored roller skates, Rasta frozen pops, bubble wands, and beach balls. Kristina Ashley will be featuring the 2008 Island Collection and 2009 Spring Rasta Collection. Swim suites will range from $70 to $140 as well as one of a kind head pieces.
