Last Friday, Lanvin opened the first boutique store in the United States! Tres exciting but if your like fashionably social and dropping Lanvin-worthy cash isn’t happening this holiday season, do not fret. Here are some other Lanvin must-haves that wont break the bank…

In honor of 120 years of Lanvin, creative director Alber Elbaz designed stamps for the French Postal Service and will be on offer later this month at the post office based on Rue des Mathurins in Paris. An online Lanvin store also will be created for the occasion on the post office’s Web site.

Christian Louboutin is launching “Le Rituel” with the crystal stiletto champagne flutes he designed filled with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne on Friday night at Set (320 Lincoln Road).  Le Rituel will feature a live ballet performance and glass slipper presentation. The event is hosted by Anne Owen, Belkys Nerey, Daniella Sredni, Eric Milon, Jillian Sanz, Marysol Patton, Michael Capponi, Sarah Pollino and Stacy Milon.

On Tuesday at the Neiman Marcus Merrick Park the 2nd floor by the Chanel boutique was cleared for a runway show and luncheon celebrating the spring 2010 Pucci line. Creative director Peter Dumas made a special appearance and opened the show with a speech that lasted a few minutes. This is Dumas’s first collection for the prestigious brand since he was brought on June 2008 and he talked about the challenge of coming into a house with an established and well-respected reputation.

Expressing his love for the infamous print, Dumas said everyone has a Pucci story – a grandmothers scarf, sisters mini dress – and he is inspired by the Pucci woman and her personal fashion history.  Who is the Pucci girl? “The signature print means surprise, elegance, love of life and fashion. That is the Pucci woman,” he said. Dumas said for the spring collection he focused on the cut of the garment, to enhance the impression a woman leaves behind exiting a room. His own Pucci story is a memory of his mother in a bikini on the beach and the collection was inspired by the ocean, travel and holiday.

The result was an exciting and fresh update to the classic and iconic brand. Models worked body conscious cocktail dresses with short hems, open backs, asymmetrical necklines, draped mesh overlays and insets - gorgeous. Sexy, refined, sophisticated, very-right-now. Host  Jillian Jacobson-Altit was the show stopper in the dress to the far right from the Resort collection.

Spring 2010 runway show in Paris

On December 4^th Viktor & Rolf will host a private special cocktail party at the luxury fashion store, The Webster. During the cocktail, guests will have the opportunity to admire some of the “couture” pieces from Viktor & Rolf’s SS10 Runway Collection that debuted in Paris this fall.  Also at the event, limited-edition Viktor & Rolf T-shirts inspired by their SS10 Collection will be available.  The T-shirt designs features a black silhouette of one of the special gowns from the Viktor & Rolf SS10 show set on white jersey cotton.
