Running Art Basel Editorial Shoot with Kanon Vodka

As much as I love Art Basel it’s impossible to attend even a small selection of all the events. I feel like I’ve been running around for a week. I guess that is where I took my inspiration for this shoot. Also I love red.

David and I shot this at the Shore Club during the Mallick Williams Gallery exhibition for Kanon Organic Vodka.

Capture Fashion Presents: ROCKSTAR MUSES

Sex. Fashion. Rock and Roll.

I present to you Capture Fashion’s latest editorial: Rock Muses. Starring: Romao & The Sound of Drums, Cherish Glaze and Whitney Moore of NEXT models, and a grungy motel on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami’s MiMo district.

I’m beyond pleased with how major these photos turned out. David and I met with Rachael about a week ago to plan a Rock-inspired shoot – we actually planned the majority of the shoot lounging in sun chairs at Soho Beach House (cruel detail to those in cold weather, I know) Anyway, Rachael remembered an awesomely dressed percussion artist performing at Soho during Halloween and suggested him to cast as our rockstar.

David was adament about having a real musician instead of male model portraying one. Glad we went that route. Mandy Romao from Romao & The Sound of Drums was perfect. His personal style is dope to begin with, Rachael and myself were very inspired by him. Romao, a South Beach local and native of Cuba, is a “one man show” complete with costumes, dance choreography and incredible energy. Currently, Romao’s can be seen performing at South Beach’s Level nightclub, Goddess, Score and Tantra.

With Mandy Romao confirmed, David and I went on the search for a dingy motel. In Miami’s MiMo district there are a string of really cool art deco motels from the 60s that fit the theme, and gave us good reason to explore the area. D and I shot the ‘Scarecrow’ post while creeping around.

For clothes and accessories, Rachael pulled insane vintage pieces from both her wardrobe and Mandy’s. We also feature designs from Maison Martin Margiela, brands from Jessie Boutique and Atrium, Christian Louboutin, Giuseppe Zanotti, and many more. Click below for full outfit credits.

Almost Famous by CaptureFashion

Groovy, baby.

Only my favorite Capture Fashion photo shoot ever. I say that every time, huh? Well, I mean it! Our team is getting better and better. It means everything to be in the company of like-minded creatives.

Sheenon was back in town since his big move to L.A., it was pretty great to have my mane man on set with us again. Miami makeup artist, Ian Glending held it down doing ridiculously gorgeous 70s makeup that has me wanting a bronze shadow immeds. For styling, I assisted my girl RR, who really turned it out with ten looks I adore on many levels.

I’ve been dying to do a full-on 70s-inspired shoot for what seems like forever. We shot at Hotel St. Augustine on South Beach, the boutique hotel is a chic spot that has certain retro vibe perfect for my vision. This was my first time working with two models; Robin and Deborah from MC2 were so sweet, very fun to dress and great work with.

Do I really need to mention how hard David werked it out for this shoot? I think this is some of his best work yet. (Click on individual images for large view) He recently got a new camera and a super baller lens, so I know he was excited to test out the investment.

Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments  section below. xx

Winter is Coming

Beyond thrilled to finally show these photos on Capture Fashion!

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to work with local Miami stylist Rachael Russell. I recently met Rachael and started assisting her on a few of her many projects. I’m actually going to do an interview with RR this week so lookout for that post to learn all about Rachael and her upcoming projects.

These photos were shot at Soho Beach House Miami by photographer David Lundblad, featuring model Hillary Choo. I’m really proud of all the images and learned so much on the shoot. I assisted Rachael in the styling and helped out David with light. We were going for a super wintery vibe with fur-heavy styling, so it was a bit of a challenge for David to get the lighting just right in the dim, wood-planked walls of Soho Beach House.

Looking forward to working on many more editorial shoots in the future. FUN.COM.

Hope you enjoy and please share thoughts in comments! xx

Opposites Attract

This photo shoot has been in the back of my mind for months now! I am super thrilled to show you all these photos featuring moi and my great friend Meryl Villacorta. Meryl is model here in Miami, but has been off being fabulous and working in London for the summer. Waiting for her return, I have been mulling over ideas to style her in a shoot for CaptureFashion. Meryl has been one of my closest friends for years now, so it seemed appropriate to give the shoot a theme that matched the vibe of our friendship. I wanted to play on how “opposite” our physical looks are, and how “similar” our personalities’ can be.

Meryl, David and the rest of the CaptureFashion glam squad stormed the Lords Hotel South Beach Saturday morning. I often meet up with friends at Lords for cocktails and a cigarette, so getting to shoot there on the roof and pool deck was very cool. The amazing staff at Lords also hooked it up with a penthouse room, featuring an increds poster of Dame Elizabeth Taylor, so I was super stoked.

This is the first real magazine-type editorial I have done here on CF. I usually spread outfits out in separate posts throughout the week, but the styling theme was carried throughout each look, so I was able to put it all together. I’m super pleased with every photo and I hope you all enjoy! XX
