Happy Swim Week, lovelies. What better way to start things off than with a badass pool party editorial? My thoughts exactly.
I teamed up with one of my dearest friends and all around amazing person, Rachael Russell, for a photo series to help promote her charity. Rachel is the founder of Style Saves, a non-profit that builds confidence through clothes and provides a fresh start through fashion for the first week of school. Every year, Style Saves hosts a fundraising event at Soho House during swim week and it’s always one of my favorite events.
This year we teamed up to produce a fun photo shoot to promote the fundraiser and celebrate Swim Week. I am so pleased with the final photos! I had been brain storming all kinds of ideas of how to make this swim shoot different than anything we have tried here on CF.
One last thing…can we address how amazing the pool looks? I am so obsessed with this home. I want to give a warm and BIG thank-you to Jon Batchelor and Nancy Batchelor at EWM for letting us shoot at the beautiful pocket listing property on Pine Tree Dr, Miami Beach.

We totally are on fire this summer. Not only is it 100 degrees every day, but the Miami Heat are National Champs! Big congrats to the team and all the fans. It was an incredible series to watch. I’m so happy I was able to attend my first game in the semi-finals. The energy and vibe during a HEAT game is crazy intense. Next season I will definitely try to get tickets and go again.
Hot off the Heat’s big win and the debut of Resort ’14 collections, I’ve had a couple themes inspiring me last week. The main themes were gold leaf; shiny metals; heat waves; winning championships; and clothing brand, Ego Soleil. With these ideas in mind, I present the above photos by David Lundblad.
This shoot started with the clothing. I was introduced to Ego Soleil two weeks ago and immediately pulled my favorite pieces to show you all here on Capture Fashion. Ego Soleil is a new brand based in Miami. The looks from the above photos are from the first two collections, fall 2012 and spring 2013. I absolutely ADORE this line and am all about the bright prints. I first featured Ego Soleil in the Father’s Day post with a blue, floral print matching shorts/top set and then an orange and red romper. I knew I wanted to use the rest of the samples I had for a dedicated post because they are just too good.
Since I had my looks locked down, I wanted to do something experimental with the accessories. I mentioned by recent obsession over gold leaf and tin foil…I really wanted to work those materials into this styled series. I started with my nails and applied gold leaf by MYSELF to my long claws. It was not easy. Gold leaf is ridiculously delicate and hard to work with one hand and sticky nails. Needless to say, there are still gold flecks all over my apartment.
Next to get the gold treatment were a pair of old bangles I never wear. Those were easier than the nails. I just continued to use clear nail polish as glue (the little brush is key) by painting in sections and then gently applying gold leaf. The bracelets could use a coat of adheaseive spray, but I kind of like the gold all flaky and ancient looking. Gold leaf reminds me of Egypt, and for whatever reason that equates to me needing the gold to eventually flake off. #nothinglastsforever
I hope you enjoy this series and check back for the inspiration board tmrw. xx

I went back to my hometown in Naples, Fl this weekend to visit for Father’s Day. Of course, I had to squeeze in a photo shoot and convince my pops to join in the fun. Turned out, he is a natural in front of the camera and these photos were so awesome to create.
I am wearing a couple items from a new line that I am strongly feeling – Ego Soleil. The collection is perfect for Miami summertime. I’m so obssesed with the matching blue printed shorts and top I am wearing in the first photo. #SOGOOD. I have more looks from Ego Soliel coming up this week, so stay tuned.
THANK-YOU Dad for being a part of this shoot. Love you! xx

Holy hotness batman. I mean….there isn’t anything really to say about these photos other than…HOT DAMN!
I’m so proud of Ashley and so happy to be a part of these incredible photos. The amazing Terry Richardson shot Mz Sky in his NYC studio during fashion week last month. We have been patiently waiting for final images and they DID NOT disappoint!
My styling strategy is always simple when it comes to shooting Ashley. I always want to keep it clean and chic to allow Ashley’s famous curves do the talking. I knew I wanted to do a swim look because that is just Ashley to me. She IS the ultimate bikini body. We used the most perfect string bikini by my fav swimwear brand, Minimale Animale, and then paired it with a pair of bad-ass Rachel Zoe booties that are Ashley’s own.
The next look, a full-body jumpsuit by Reformation, is something that I saw and immediately knew that if Ashley tried it on….all competition would be slayed. I have a huge love affair for The Reformation and kind of want every single thing in the store. I always style with brands that I actually wear. It just feels more real. Clothes are like friends, you have to hang out together and see if you vibe.
Shooting in Miami is always a beautiful adventure. The weather has been so unpredictable lately. It’s been really windy so it’s chilly but then the sun feels really warm, so my wardrobe choices have been really schizophrenic. (Note: I’m in a coat, boots and tights like 3 posts down.) We shot these photos at sunrise while a storm was developing on the coast. It was so pretty!! And freaking windy. Chilly windy = not fun. It’s Ultra/Winter Music Conference starting this weekend, so I really wanted to start my transition into bikinis as clothing routine. Are any readers coming to Miami during the next two weeks?
I’m getting really excited. My friend Alyssa from MarieClaire.com is staying with me this weekend and I’ll be dressing Ashley Sky while she is in town, so it should be a really fun couple of weeks. David is traveling to NYC for the next two months, so I am going to be presenting photos on CF a little differently in the upcoming weeks. I haven’t figured it out quite yet….it’s going to be….interesting. Any photographers in Miami looking to collaborate, please reach out to Amanda@CaptureFashion.com.
Back to the post….I have swimwear on the brain hardcore. Specifically, all things Australian. I’m going to have to make a dedicated post to Australian brands for spring. It’s super necessary. The two dresses in this post are by Bless’ed Are the Meek, one my favorite Aussie lines, although I say it wrong constantly. I say “blessed we are meek” or “blessed and meek ones” it’s so embarassing. I am going to have to get it right because I am obsessed with this line and I want everything. #everysinglething

It is President’s Day and everything.
I didn’t plan to go all patriotic, I actually was just going for a Western vibe in this series. But then we found flags. Awesome flags waving in the wind at sunset in front of a huge open field. I mean, duh.
I’ve been drawn to Western-vibey pieces all fall. Ever since I got those Isabel Marant inspired Zara boots on super sale, I’m like, take me to the desert. I can barely contain my excitement to just go full-on cowgirl this spring. Is anyone with me?
